This museum was installed in the Braun Menéndez Palace, a mansion built in 1905, in which lived Don Mauricio Braun, married to Josefina Menéndez, a marriage that united the two largest fortunes of the region. Its original treasure of furniture and European tapestry of that epoch have been conserved. It has excellent expositive material of the contemporary history of the region.
